As a screen protector, it's nothing special, flat glass with a silicone adhesive. Clean the screen dry, wet, dry again, until there are 0 streaks or residue on it. It is also standard reflective glass, so it can have glare in sunlight. The main reason I got this though was due to the polarization of the screen. I wear glasses, and my prescription sunglasses as it turns out are polarized opposite of the polarization of the glass on the radio's screen. Wear the sunglasses, and the screen is black, and only visible if you turn it 90 degrees to the side. This screen protector is the right thickness to depolarize the glass, so it is clearly visible at any angle with polarized glasses. This also solves the glare issue, and is ideal for those with polarized glasses.
