What is FPV?

FPV is short for First Person View. Using specially designed FPV cameras and head sets, it’s possible to virtually put yourself in the cockpit of almost any RC model. Instead of just watching, you can go along for the ride!

Platform.

PLATFORM

An FPV platform can be any RC vehicle you fly or drive. All you need is enough room to mount an FPV camera system.

Transmitter

TRANSMITTER

You will need an RC transmitter to fly or drive the platform that carries your FPV camera.

Camera

CAMERA

The camera captures the first person view from the platform and sends the images via video transmitter to your headset.

Headset

HEADSET

The headset lets you see what the camera on the platform sees. It’s like sitting in the cockpit or behind the wheel.

Digital Head Tracking

The Teleporter V4 FPV head set was developed by Fat Shark exclusively for Horizon Hobby. One of its coolest features is Digital Head Tracking. Using sensors in the head set, digital head tracking makes it possible to pan and tilt your field of view using a stationary FPV camera. This is perfect for ultra micro aircraft because it gives you all the benefits of head tracking without the extra weight and complexity of a mechanical camera gimbal. It’s just one more way Spektrum FPV systems make it easier to be put yourself in the pilot’s seat.

This amazing bit of Spektrum technology combines an FPV camera, transmitter and antenna in a single unit that is smaller than a thimble. Installation is easy and can be done in seconds. No soldering or special skills are required. You simply attach it to your model and plug in a 1S battery (sold separately). A Y-harness connector is included if you want to eliminate the weight of a separate battery and power the camera with the same 1S flight battery that powers the aircraft.
